Zharkov and Laughton sound like intriguing picks. We need size on offense and i don't think Aberg would help. We already have Boucher and Tedenby too many small skilled forwards. Need some guys with some size.

I agree. Laughton isn't really big but he plays big. Zharkov definitely fits the bill.

Can't remember but do we have a second rounder this year? I feel like we don't.

I think we originally had 2, original and Arnott trade, and traded one to Minnesota for Zid.

Why isn't one of the potential picks a goalie. There are 3 pretty good ones this year with at least one of them being still available. I know Wedgewood looks promising but he is hardly a sure thing and having another solid goaltending prospect wouldn't hurt.

He's the only top end guy out there, the next guy in line is Salvador. That's saying a lot. Detroit has the cap space to pay him upwards to 8 million.

It's an interesting deal, especially if we resign Salvador. Not saying I'd do it, but it is fair.

Agreed, so we dump some salary, but we also get rid of a 30 goal scorer and one of the few guys that can mix it up on the ice. Rejected

Todd Cordell: Why Ryan Suter will not be a Devil + potential Devils draft targets
- Todd.Cordell

out of the potential draft prospects you have named, zarkov seems to me to be the best choice, i like his size and his upsides, something we need, the only thing that worries me about russians is the khl factor, then we just need to find a russian center to form the solviet line of kovalchuk-x-zarkov

as someone else pointed out, we dont need another speedy small swede, at this point we dont even know if teddy is going to work out, and our other swedish forward has had issues with injuries, yes we need solid 2 way centers but we need guys that can put the puck in the net or be a very good playmaker as some of our older guys like elias are going to slow down and we have almost no forwards signed next year

Does Gagner play center or left wing? Either way, don't need him.

Clarkson is side and ability on the third line and also is a leader for us. He also came off of a 30 goal year... Volchenkov is a player we need. I don't see how they is fair for the Devils. Yes, the 2nd is the 32nd pick which is good but it's not like we're moving further into the first round where I would expect when trading players of this quality.

I mean, that line would be good except that Zharkov is bad.
